The material I choose to explore was concrete. I decided to solve the problem of the pool having a slippery surface when you enter it. This would be a huge safety issue so in an effort to prevent this I designed some concrete tiles. Before I began producing the tiles I looked at existing concrete surfaces around Wellington City. After some exploration tiles I developed a tile made from concrete mixed with small pebbles. The small pebbles where added to give the surface more texture along with ridges that will also help prevent peoples feet slipping forward as they enter the pool. The tiles also fit in with the rest of the design.

Each tile is 1m x 1m and 20mm thick.
