Similarilies

- Unstable soils. - Extreme steep areas of the sites. - Contain terraces and haulage tracks. - Location unbuilt up areas. - Air temperature is moderated by being near the sea.

Differences

- Different shaped quarry/ not enclosed bowl like Eden. - Our Site is right on the coast. - Our site is very exposed and gets alot of wind. - Our site isn't facing directly towards the sun.

Design/Concept relevance

- Using natural methods,i.e coconut mat and planting to stablise site. - Using the existing tracks and haulage roots to shape the design. - Filling low areas of the site with soil from high areas of the site to create some flat areas to reduce the extremities. - Display local artists sculptural work. - Using the contained form of the site to create an Eden. Because of the extreme exposure of the site it wouldn't be a plant Eden but maybe a coastal environment with marine reserves, coastal planting and coastal habitat creation. - No waste from the site environment friendly and low impact with day-to-day running. - Water and drainage from site collected in swales and reused. - Education through experience been an important concept.
