ANALYSIS

-No access into site for public

-Site is entirely fenced off with locked gates at entrance

-No direct access for occupants of building to this back space

-Building on sight is used as studio space by local artists

-Lawn is fairly maintained

-Trees are dying and poorly maintained

-Minimal use

-Lower windows boarded up

-Overall the grounds are undeveloped, a couple benches and a path made of stepping stones outlines the miniscule development of the site.


SITE HISTORY


Also known as the Watkins building, the artist reprieve was once a distribution facility for Avon beauty products. Docks on the north side of the building show the use the company had with the railroad systems. As you can see below, the dock area has now become a display of graffiti art, it is questionable whether it is vandalism or purposefully imposed by local artists
